The Tushetian Guda Cheese Festival was held for the first time this year, with the Georgian Farmers’ Association (GFA) as a supporter. The festival took place in the village of Kvemo Alvani in Akhmeta Municipality, at the “Itabani” agro-tourism farm, organized by the Tusheti Development Fund, bringing together over 20 Guda cheese producers.
The event aimed to promote Tushetian Guda cheese and support farmers in selling their products. Encouraging Guda cheese producers and reviving Tushetian culture and traditions were also key components of the activity.
Festival visitors had the opportunity to taste sheep and cow Guda cheese on-site and participate in Tushetian culinary masterclasses. The event featured a GFA booth where guests could explore functional miniature farm and agricultural tractor models.
The highlight of the day was the announcement of winners in various categories. The Georgian Farmers’ Association presented a symbolic gift to the “Female Farmer of the Year” – Marine Ghuzarauli.
