The Georgian Farmers’ Association has completed practical training in dairy farming and beekeeping as part of the project “Capacitated Agricultural Practices and Consumer Awareness (CAPCA)” aimed at sharing exemplary agricultural practices with farmers. The training sessions were held on demonstration farms in Kakheti, Imereti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi, and Kvemo Svaneti, with approximately 800 farmers participating.
Participants gained both practical and theoretical knowledge. In the dairy farming direction, topics covered included GeoGAP standards, animal health and nutrition, labor safety, and environmental protection. In the beekeeping direction, training focused on bee diseases, GeoGAP standards, and seasonal beekeeping activities. The next phase of the project involves launching a grant program for small and medium-sized primary producers, collectors, distributors, and processors, which will be announced in December. The project „Capacitated Agricultural Practices and Consumer Awareness (CAPCA)” is funded under the EU-supported European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development in Georgia (ENPARD – Georgia/the fourth phase – ENPARD IV) is implemented by the consortium represented by the Georgian Farmers’ Association (GFA) (lead partner) and two co-applicants: Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and Beekeepers Association of Georgian Mountainous Regions (Ambrolauri District).
