Social and Economic Empowerment of Women in Georgia

The Georgian Farmers’ Association, together with theUN Women, is launching a new project “For the Economic Empowerment of Women”, which aims to empower women involved in agritourism throughout Georgia.

The two-year project will identify 100  women entrepreneurs involved in the agro-sector / agritourism across the country who will improve their entrepreneurial skills through hospitality training and receive financial support, will be better equipped to generate more income from their agritourism premises, become more exposed to local and international markets and have all the necessary tools, skill-set to form linkages.

The project will involve the process of creating a legislative framework for agritourism. Also, to stimulate the process of elaboration of local and international standards for agritourism objects, to create a digital map of agritourism objects and to promote the membership of entrepreneurs in agritourism associations. 

The project is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by the UN Women in partnership with the Georgian Farmers’ Association. “

Within the framework of the project, any woman, from any part of Georgia (except Tbilisi), who has been running an agritourism facility for at least one year, has a business development plan and believes that knowledge is a key, can fill out an application  and participate.
