Hosted by CNA Brasil representatives from around the world, convened in Brazil for the #COP30 Summit to amplify the farmers’ voice. During the #COP30 Farmers Summit, Tamar Toria, Executive Director of the Georgian Farmers’ Association, shared the association’s efforts to support farmers, highlighting how they facilitate access to financial resources and investments to enhance farm sustainability and strengthen the food system. Tamar also presented examples of diversifying financial instruments and fostering public-private partnerships with producers.

On the second day of the visit to Brazil, Tamar focused on exchanging practical experiences and visited the Asa Branca farm. Established 41 years ago, the farm currently spans around 4,000 hectares. Presently, Asa Branca cultivates cereals and oilseeds. To diversify its operations, the farm is also engaged in raising two different cattle breeds.
Under the auspices of the World Farmers’ Organization (WFO) and on behalf of the Georgian Farmers’ Association, Tamar Toria participated in a panel session on soil restoration, considering the local context. She discussed the challenges and lessons learned by Georgian farmers in this process. Tamar is a facilitator of the WFO Climate Change Working Group and collaborates with colleagues to incorporate farmers’ perspectives, knowledge, and interests into global climate policy.
#COP30 is an international meeting dedicated to enhancing efforts to combat climate change and improving the quality of life for people worldwide.
