Giorgi Kobalia is an agribusiness management expert whose professional activities include the formation and development of value chains, business operations management, development of sustainable development strategies and market expansion.
Since September 2025, he has been working at the Georgian Farmers Association as the Head of the Services and Business Development Department, where his main task is to structure the association’s services, establish business development mechanisms and strengthen commercialization processes.
Previously, Giorgi Kobalia served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Georgian Hazelnut Growers Association (GHGA) and its subsidiary GHGA Commercial LTD. Through his efforts, important operational and strategic initiatives were implemented, and this activity made a significant contribution to the process of integrating the Georgian hazelnut sector with international standards and markets.
Professional experience also includes participation in projects initiated by international funds and donors (EBRD; World Bank Group; UNDP; FAO; USAID; European Union (EU); WFP), where he played an important role in management and monitoring. Part of his career path is also working in the energy sector, where he gained experience in renewable, green energy, business analytics and operations management.
Giorgi Kobalia actively cooperated with both the local and international business sector, providing consultations on business operations planning and optimization. Special attention was paid to international development projects aimed at improving the well-being of small farmers in Georgia and the countries of the region.
He holds an MBA in Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management. Giorgi Kobalia is also certified in business strategy and sustainable development by the world’s leading educational institutions, including Harvard Business School and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
