With the support of the European Union, the Georgian Farmers’ Association (GFA), together with partner organizations World Vision Österreich, World Vision in Georgia, and EEC Georgia, has launched a new project. The goal of the project “Inclusive Growth through Sustainable and Green Business Practices in Georgia” is to encourage the development of green skills and sustainable and green business practices in Georgia. For 2.5 years, the Georgian Farmers’ Association will work on strengthening the capacities of Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and integrating greening modules into agricultural sector programs.
As a result of this work, with the involvement of the Georgian Farmers’ Association, the long-term outcomes of the project include: 1.Improving skills and introducing sustainable business practices in target sectors (especially in the agricultural sector) for current and future small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 2. Improving skills and introducing sustainable energy efficiency practices in the construction and other selected industrial sectors for current and future SMEs. 3. Enhancing the reputation of vocational education among youth and other relevant target groups. The program is funded by the European Union and the Austrian Development Agency and covers four regions: Imereti, Kakheti, Adjara (Batumi), and Tbilisi.
